MITCH-A-PALOOZA
*100% of event ticket sales will be donated back to the Charleston fitness community through a foundation started in honor of Mitch. Each year Mitch's family and friends will choose a new cause, organization, or individual to benefit from this event. In 2022, we have chosen a local North Charleston High School where Mitch completed volunteer work. Gym equipment will be donated in his name and a few personal trainers will be compensated to offer a program to teach the student athletes the basics and fundamentals of strength training and proper form.
Mitch-a-Palooza will consist of 2 different events on Saturday June 18th, 2022.
- The Workout will start at 9:30am and be held at Wilson Field and Track (near The Citadel) in downtown Charleston. Please arrive at 9am to begin the check-in process.
- The Celebration of Life Event will be between 5pm - 9pm at the Wonderer. Please check in upon arrival. It will be a time for friends and family to share memories of Mitch, celebrate his impact, and enjoy time with the community he was deeply woven into. Everyone is welcome. There will be a silent auction to help fundraise for the Mitch Darnton Memorial Foundation's yearly cause. Appetizers and Food will be provided. Access to a full bar with beverages and alcohol will be available for purchase.
The Workout
It will be called "The Mitch". Think TQN's version of "The Murph". It will be a workout that will be timed and run all over the country, annually. This will allow you to always participate and compete, plus measure your personal progress. This workout will be in typical #mitchslap fashion- it will be challenging, it will make you question why you signed up, and it will honor our fallen coach and friend TQN Training and his favorite saying: DO THE WORK. After the workout, donuts will be provided for all participants- because what better way to honor Mitch besides a little sweat, a lot of community, and post-workout donuts. It will be a workout to remember and The First Annual Mitch.
** Please register by Sunday, June 12th if you wish to participate in the workout- only ticketed participants will be allowed to participate. Everyone is welcome to come and observe.
The Celebration of Life
The same evening, Mitch's friends and family will be hosting a Celebration of Life Event held at the Wonderer located at 1705 Meeting Street Rd, Charleston, SC 29405. This Event will be a time for friends and family to share memories of Mitch as well as his impact he had on our community. There will be a silent auction with amazing prizes to be raffled away. There will be a memorial wall in tribute to Mitch. Appetizers and food will be provided- this is a family friendly event. There will also be a full bar available for purchase. We highly recommend taking advantage of uber and carpooling as parking can be hard to come by. Event ticket sales will close Wednesday, June 15th. Only ticketed guests will be allowed.
The Memorial T-Shirt
This will be a limited edition 1st Annual Mitch-a-Palooza t-shirt that will only be available if pre-ordered through this website. It will be available for pick up at both the workout and the Celebration of Life Event at the check in tables. Orders for this limited edition t-shirt will close Monday, June 6th.
